Dear Academician,
It is my distinct pleasure to inform you about the 15th Convention of Academia Eurasiana Neurochirurgica. The convention will be held on 11-14th June 2009 in Conrad Hotel-Istanbul and it will also host the joint meeting with the German Neurosurgical Academy.
As 2009 is the 25th year anniversary of the Academia Eurasiana Neurochirurgica, it has several important features.
First of all we shall celebrate our Academies silver Jubilee. We wish to use this opportunity to discuss “the impact of Academies on neurosurgical academic life” ad “the future of neurosurgical subspecialities” in our scientific sessions. I hope that these discussions at the 25th year anniversary of the Academia Eurasiana Neurochirurgica will contribute to our vision on the future of neurosurgery.
Again at this meeting we shall present a “scientific award” to a young neurosurgeon. I hope that this scientific award will become a tradition and attract the interest of young neurosurgeons to academic life.
This convention's program is, as always, prepared to have a high scientific level, but the social program will give all the participants the opportunity to gather and promote better and special contacts and communication among academic neurosurgeons. We must not forget that Professor Pia and Professor Sano have based the foundation of our Academy not only on neurosurgical profession but also on humanitarian contacts and interaction between different cultures in Eurasia.
This 15th convention of the Academia Eurasiana Neurochirurgica will be held in a genuine Eurasian country-Turkey. It is our hope that it will improve our neurosurgical knowledge and brotherhood.
