Thousands of chamber delegates from at least 100 countries are expected to attend the 5th World Chambers Congress in Istanbul, which will feature an opening address by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Held every two years, the World Chambers Congress has established an enviable reputation as the place where chamber and business leaders get to know international peers and share experience and best practice on grassroots issues that have a direct impact on the chamber of commerce community.
Organized by ICC’s World Chambers Federation, the World Chambers Congress is the only international forum open to the global community of over 12 000 chambers. Delegates come together from as far as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Fiji, Australia, Ecuador, Mongolia, Nepal, Madagascar, Uganda, Algeria, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica and Cuba.
The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey is the host of the 5th World Chambers Congress in 2007, held during an exciting phase of Turkey’s history, as it negotiates membership in the EU.
