Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society (PGDIS), we would like to invite you to participate in the 12th International Conference on Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), which will be held in Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul, Turkey, 8-11 May, 2013. This is one year after the 11th PGD Conference in Bregenz, Austria, due to the growing need to review the recent dramatic progress in PGD technology and its expanding applications in reproductive medicine and genetic practices not only in Western countries, but all over the world.
In view of the growing practical implications of PGD, the Istanbul PGD Conference will concentrate on clinical aspects of PGD and the accuracy of the recently expanded application of microarray-based technology for testing of oocytes and embryos. Special emphasis will be on controversial issues involving the application of PGD in assisted reproductive technology (ART) and the growing application of PGD approaches for improving reproductive outcome in poor prognosis ART patients.
A number of Pre-Congress Courses will be organized (May 8th 2013), including (1) aCGH testing for Aneuploidy and Translocations, (2) Gamete and Embryo Vitrification and (3) Time-lapse Imaging for Blastocyst Culture, as well as a Post-Congress Hands-on Workshop on PGD for Genetic and Chromosomal Disorders by biopsy procedures at different stages of embryo development (12-14 May 2013).
It is for the second time that Turkey is hosting a PGD Conference, because it is an excellent venue for the participation of not only attendees from Western countries but also from the Middle East, South East Asia and Western Pacific regions. This time the Conference will be organized in Istanbul, an increasingly popular conference destination, which is particularly delightful in spring.
