On behalf of the Association of Gastroenterology and General Surgery of Türkiye, I am pleased to invite you to the 18th World Congress of the International Association of Surgeons and Gastroenterologists in 2008. It will be our great honor and pleasure to welcome you in Istanbul, Türkiye.
International Association of General Surgery and Gastroenterologists (IASG) is a great opportunity to share experience, knowledge and culture among general surgeons, gastroenterologists and oncologists all over the World. It promises an interactive learning stage, a colorful environment to update knowledge and unforgettable experience of making new friends and meeting colleagues from different backgrounds and countries.
Türkiye is a modern country where eastern and western civilizations meet in perfect harmony. Various important civilizations that have flourished on this land since 9,000 B.C. Istanbul, the only city in the world built on two continents, guards the precious relics of three great empires in the past. The reminiscences of Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman cultures are still present in every corner of this exciting city. Istanbul, a unique link between the East and the West, offers modern facilities, amazing natural beauty and history, outstanding cultural life and entertainment, diverse gastronomic experience and the traditional Turkish hospitality.
The scientific program will cover the most important and exciting topics in the fields of surgery, gastroenterology, hepatology and endoscopy. The faculty, consists of well-known scientists, will contribute much to the success of this congress by sharing updates, new findings and their experiences.
