Dear colleagues and friends,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Antalya, Turkey for the 10th Biennial Conference of Alpha, Scientists in Reproductive Medicine which will be held May 09-11, 2014.
It is a great privilege and honour for me to have the opportunity of hosting another Alpha meeting in Turkey, after a very successful conference in Istanbul, 2008.
Since the Istanbul Alpha meeting, we are very proud to see ever increasing numbers of colleagues attending our activities, and we believe that this success will continue with the same acceleration also in Antalya. The Alpha Executive Board, together with the International Scientific Committee, and the Local Organizing Committee have, as always, taken great care to prepare a high quality scientific program covering the emerging topics in assisted reproduction. We are committed to continue this tradition for our 10th Biennial Meeting, and hope that you will be leaving the meeting with very useful take home messages.
Turkey is a unique country that connects Asia and Europe, and embraces the great variety of different cultures stemming from ancient civilizations. Antalya, founded in 159 B.C., is a unique historical site on the shores of Mediterranean Sea and situated in the gulf bearing the same name, in the south of Anatolia peninsula. The southern edge of Antalya gulf is open with the other three edges being surrounded by very steep and thickly wooded mountains which start almost from the sea and reach a considerable altitude in a short distance to the Mediterranean. Antalya is one of the best known tourist cities of Turkey elected as the world's third most visited city by number of international arrivals in 2011. It is well connected to major international airports and other places of interest. With its beautiful nature and historical richness, it is Turkey's biggest international sea resort as well as the fastest-growing province in the country. The combination of sun, deep blue sea and tree-covered mountains cannot be seen elsewhere.
The conference will be held in Gloria Convention Center, located in Antalya Belek region, approximately an hour’s drive from Antalya International Airport.
To complement the scientific program we hope that you will enjoy your stay in this unique city with natural landscapes, well-preserved ancient sites, sandy beaches, and a lovely old town that has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
We look forward to welcoming you to Antalya, Turkey where colours, cultures and continents meet.
Yours sincerely,
Başak BALABAN
Congress President
