The Turkish Neurological Society is honoured to invite you to the EFNS-ENS Joint Congress of Neurology in Istanbul May 31 - June 3, 2014.
Istanbul is one of the most favoured cities in world tourism with its historical and cultural heritage dating back thousands of years. The sole city spanning two continents, it physically and metaphorically bridges the cultures and philosophies of Europe and Asia, Occident and Orient. In this respect, it has been attracting attention in the international area in recent years as a rising star in congress tourism. Istanbul has hosted many important international fairs and congresses in the past due to its specific location as a central spot both geographically and also culturally functioning between Asia and Europe.
Istanbul is an old city; you can see the remains of many ancient civilizations and their culture in harmony with Turkish culture. The old versus the new, the traditional versus the modern is a contradiction a visitor often observes. The city is full of contrasts, and colourful views. Though no longer a capital, Istanbul is the cosmopolitan heart of the Turkish Republic, its financial center and most populous city.
On behalf of the Turkish Neurological Society, it is a great honour to welcome all participants of the Joint Congress Istanbul 2014.
Let’s get together in İstanbul, where the continents meet.
Ersin Tan, MD
Professor of Neurology
President of Turkish Neurological Society
