On behalf of MENATOX, I would like to invite you to join us at our annual conference in Istanbul from February 19 to 22, 2020, in partnership with the Emergency Physician Association of Turkey!
The theme of this year’s conference is “Building Bridges” in recognition of Istanbul’s linkage between two continents and MENATOX’s mission to advance the care of poisoned patients and prevent chemical and other toxicological exposures through regional collaboration and exchanges.
On Wednesday February 19, 2020, MENATOX will organize a preconference symposium that will hinge on the synergy between public health and clinical toxicology. It will include sessions on chemical-biological surveillance at poison centers and at ministries of health, chemical data resources and national inventories, regional updates on poison center development, principles of chemical and biological security, poison prevention strategies and lead hazard mitigation efforts.
MENATOX will hold the main conference on February 20 and 21, 2020. This will include the opening ceremony and the usual sessions (rapid fire, occupational/environmental tox, critical care tox, pediatric tox, oral research presentations, analytical tox, forensic tox, poison panel, chemical security, etc…).
On Saturday February 22, 2020, MENATOX will organize a postconference symposium that focuses on prevention and response of chemical and biological emergencies and hazards. This will include toxidrome and biological syndrome recognition as well as Level C Personal Protective Equipment demonstration. Instructors will also discuss decontamination and laboratory detection techniques.
