Dear colleagues, We are pleased to invite you to the 22nd ECNP Congress which will be organised from 12-16 September 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. The scientific programme is the most important part of the ECNP Congress. As a rule it consists of plenary lectures, a limited (28) number of symposia, educational update sessions, brainstorming sessions and poster sessions. In addition, Breaking News symposia, focussing on the latest developments in preclinical and clinical research in neuropsychopharmacology, will be organised. We would like to thank all of you who submitted one or more of the many symposium proposals. The Scientific Programme Committee (SPC) has once again been able to compose a high level, well-balanced scientific programme in which the latest achievements and future perspectives in neuropsychopharmacology and related disciplines of virtually all disorders of the brain are presented and discussed. The various aspects of pharmacotherapy of brain disorders in order to improve the life of patients with psychiatric and neurological disorders are also covered. The overall programme will serve as a major forum for clinical and basic scientists from all over the world to present and discuss in preclinical and clinical symposia and at the poster sessions. For the latter sessions, we would like to draw your attention to the call for papers for poster presentation in this announcement. Young scientists are always on the main screen of ECNP’s scientific programme. To facilitate the participation of young scientists at the ECNP Congresses waived or reduced registration fee and possibilities to support by awards are offered. You are invited to visit the ECNP website to find out more. As always, scientifically oriented satellite symposia with educational financial support provided by pharmaceutical companies will be organised. Istanbul has many architecturally significant entities. Throughout its long history, the city has acquired a reputation for being a cultural and ethnic melting pot.
