27th National and 10th International Biostatistics Congress

Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Organizing Committee, together with the Biostatistics Association, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the XXVII National and X International Biostatistics Congress, as we proudly celebrate our milestone 10th international meeting. Hosted by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, the congress will take place from November 11 to 14, 2026, in the historic city of İzmir at the Kordon Hotel Çankaya. The theme of this year’s Congress is “Advances in Biostatistical Methods and their Clinical Application.” In contemporary medicine, biostatistics has transcended its traditional role as a downstream analytical component to become the foundational architecture of scientific inquiry. With its strategic value increasingly recognized across the medical spectrum, biostatistics now stands as an indispensable tool for evidence-based clinical decision-making and global health policy. This year’s Congress is a watershed moment in the history of our discipline, marking the growth of our involvement with the global scientific community. Reflecting this international stature, distinguished scientists from some of the world's top universities will join us to share their research, experience and insights. Conceived as a synergistic platform to unite academia, industry, and current and future clinical researchers, the Congress features an extensive showcasing of methodological innovation as well as offering networking opportunities. The proceedings will include pre-Congress advanced courses (November 11), keynote addresses, specialized symposia, and peer-reviewed oral and poster sessions. Submissions will be accepted after a double-blind peer review process. The Congress will evaluate cutting-edge analytical frameworks, machine learning and artificial intelligence-driven predictive modeling, advanced bioinformatics, and next-generation adaptive clinical trial designs through a multidimensional lens. Our agenda aims not only to review current paradigms but to actively shape the future of our discipline through collaborative strategic foresight. Extending beyond laboratory and clinical paradigms, the application of biostatistics in health economics, resource optimization, and public policy will take a central position in our high-level plenary sessions. In particular, the economic and scientific leverage afforded to healthcare systems by robust sample size estimation, study design, and analytical techniques will be critically examined through a tripartite matrix of academia, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders. A further objective of this Congress is to cooperatively shape the institutional and academic future of our discipline, including the advancement of departments of biostatistics, pedagogical evolution, multidisciplinary research cultures, integration with data science, and academic sustainability. In an era redefined by big data, artificial intelligence, real-world evidence (RWE), and digital health architectures, the evolving role of the biostatistician remains central to our vision. We hope the congress will serve as an opportunity for cross-disciplinary innovation and cultivate the collective intellectual partnerships and scholarly exchanges that underpin innovation across the health sciences. Beyond the scientific agenda, a curated social program has been arranged to allow participants to experience the unique historical and cultural heritage of İzmir.
